Ultrafiltration Systems for Industrial and Municipal Use
Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane-based process engineered to remove suspended solids and microorganisms as well as high-molecular-weight compounds from water. Producing consistent and high-quality permeate safeguards downstream processes and supports water reuse initiatives. RTW integrates UF into projects across the Middle East. We provide industries with dependable pre-treatment systems and long-term operational stability.

Principle of Ultrafiltration
UF membranes have pore sizes of about 0.01 microns. These pores allow clean water and small molecules to pass through while retaining bacteria, viruses, colloids, and other contaminants. UF acts as a physical separation barrier and ensures a high degree of filtration without chemical dependence.
Process Overview
Pre-Filtration
Coarse debris is removed to minimize fouling and reduce membrane load.
Membrane Filtration
Water passes through UF membranes under low operating pressure to separate contaminants from the filtered permeate.
Backwashing
Periodic cleaning maintains stable flux to extend system life and sustain efficiency.
Key Advantages of UF
High Removal Rates
Eliminates more than 99.9% of microorganisms and suspended solids.
Chemical-Free Operation
Functions without chemical additives to minimize environmental impact.
System Protection
Provides reliable pre-treatment for Reverse Osmosis (RO) to reduce fouling and extend membrane service life.
Compact Configuration
Modular design makes UF scalable for industries of varying capacities.
Low Energy Use
Operates at lower pressures compared to alternative filtration methods.
Supports Reuse
Produces water of consistent quality suitable for recycling within industrial facilities.
Applications in the Middle East
RO Pre-Treatment
Ensures efficient performance and durability of RO membranes.
Industrial Process Water
Supplies clean feedwater for manufacturing and cooling in boiler operations.
Wastewater Reuse
Enables recycling in sectors such as textiles, food processing, and power generation.
Municipal Supply
Produces safe drinking water for communities and urban centers.
Effluent Polishing
Helps meet regulatory standards by removing fine particles and pathogens.
